Who We Are

Mission: To serve the people of the Arrowhead Region by providing local units of government and citizens groups a means to work cooperatively in identifying needs, solving problems and fostering local leadership.

The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) is dedicated to fostering communities where older adults can live with dignity, independence, and mutual respect across generations and cultures. Serving the seven counties of Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region—Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and St. Louis—we work to ensure all people aged 60 and older have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.

As a division of the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC), we are committed to building an inclusive and equitable community for our employees and the people we serve.

What We Do

We play a key role in creating a coordinated and supportive network for aging adults by:

  • Raising Awareness: Educating the community about aging issues and the importance of supporting older adults.
  • Funding Community Services: Distributing resources to strengthen services that empower seniors to live independently.
  • Improving Systems: Facilitating collaboration to enhance the quality and accessibility of aging-related programs.
  • Providing Information and Education: Offering high-quality guidance through the Senior LinkAge Line® and health-focused programs that promote wellness and independence.

Guided by our vision, we strive to ensure that older adults in Northeast Minnesota have the choice to remain active and stay in their homes and communities as long as possible. Join us in creating a region where aging is embraced and supported!
