Volunteers play a critical role within our community! Volunteers help strengthen the mission of the Sexual Assault Program of NSLC to help empower victims and survivors of Sexual Violence! Volunteer: Disaster Health Services - Specific Licensure Required

Use your medical expertise to help people affected by disasters.

The American Red Cross is looking for licensed health professionals to join our Disaster Health Services team. In this volunteer role, you’ll provide compassionate care to individuals impacted by emergencies. Whether it’s replacing lost medications, offering first aid, or helping clients manage health needs during a crisis.

What You’ll Do:

Support disaster victims by phone or in person with basic health needs. Provide first aid and help replace lost medical items. Refer serious health concerns to appropriate care. Work alongside mental health, spiritual care, and disaster response teams. Keep accurate records and attend team meetings.

Who We’re Looking For:

Licensed health professionals (RN, LPN, EMT, etc.) with current CPR/First Aid certification. Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure. Willingness to work in challenging environments and on-call schedules. Must have a cell phone, transportation, and be comfortable using Red Cross systems.
