Volunteer: Volunteer AdvocacyVolunteers play a critical role within our community! Volunteers help strengthen the mission of the Sexual Assault Program of NSLC to help empower victims and survivors of Sexual Violence! In order to become a volunteer a minimum of 40 Hours of Advocacy training is required. Training standards are set by the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault and our agency. The training will occur, and a date will be set for training once we have enough volunteers who have submitted a written application. Hopefully training will be set up in the Fall of 2024. Advocate volunteers can help with: Crisis Intervention One-on-one Counseling Group Advocacy Systems Advocacy Awareness Education Professional Training Community Education and Public Speaking Fundraising Promoting AwarenessTo become a Volunteer with Northern St. Louis County's Sexual Assault Program, the following requirements must be met: A written Application must be filled outParticipate in a Pre-Screening processMinimum of 40-hour Training (provided by the Sexual Assault Program of NSLC)A review and understanding of the Code of Ethics Post screening evaluations Follow recommendations of program (additional training if necessary)Meetings and contacts with Crime Victim Coordinator (Executive Director)Continued ongoing education and refresher courses annually Comply with agency Best Practice and StandardsAgency: Sexual Assault Program of Northern St. Louis County Volunteers play a critical role within our community!
