Thank you for your assistance in making the Step into School shoe event a success and a memorable time for local children and their families.
We hope to help more than 50 children with school shoes, haircut certificates, and dinner while having a great time interacting with public safety officials and other volunteers.
Public Safety Officials will transport participants from Backus to Ronnings in engines, squads, and other emergency response vehicles for shoe shopping after dinner for Groups 1 and 2. Firefighters, law enforcement, and other first responders will have fire trucks and other vehicles on site for kids to explore.
A (mostly) finalized timeline is below:

- 415 Group 1 arrives at Backus (registration, certificates, cookies)

**United Way of Northeastern Minnesota asks that volunteers keep their focus on the true goal of the volunteer project they’re signing up for, not on campaigning or soliciting for other programs or organizations. Thank you for your help keeping UWNEMN a place everyone can come together to empower healthy lives, help children succeed, and stabilize families and individuals!
